I’m sorry it’s been so long since the last post……..!

Well, the last time I was moaning about having problems with my old PC – I kept putting off the day when I had to “bite the bullet” and invest in a new one!

So six months ago things were taken out of my hands when I picked up a nasty virus and the whole thing crashed – big time! After a visit to the computer shop, my Dell was declared officially brain dead and deceased!

So what to do – I have an iPad, which was given to me as a present and like most Windows users, I hate it with a vengeance, Steve Jobs was a control freak and so is his product, downloading the endless Apps!

So a new Dell Desktop was the answer, you take it out the box plug it in and away you go, after the updating of course!

A new desktop you may ask – they are so yesterday, but I like to sit at a desk, it feels more business like, it gives me a focal point in the house where scraps of paper with long to be forgotten notes are scribbled on, where pens that have ceased to work collect and where reading glasses with only one arm go to retire to! 

So which “brain” to choose from Windows, having run on XP for so long, I was not looking forward to upgrading to Windows 8, being a Brit in the Netherlands, I listen to the BBC World Service and had heard all the grumbles about 8! Hooray! They came out with Windows 8.1 with the beloved “Start” button reinstalled and what is more, it was free for a limited period, so I grabbed it with both hands! 

So there you go, I’m up and running again, I’m not too worried if I don’t develop a huge fan base, I mean I only have 70 plus friends on Face Book, ok ok, it’s 77 – one of those is my self I added by mistake! How could I de-friend myself, I might not exist! Haha

How can you have a 1000 friends, plus goodness knows how many groups and follow them all? And no I refuse to set up a Twitter account, that’s one tweet too far!

Anyway that’s enough for now – I don’t want to bore anyone to death, who stumbles across this – feed back would be appreciated, don’t worry I won’t try to sell you a used car! Hehe

Lost in Space…..!

Well , this is the 3rd time I’ve tried to post a blog since last weekend – but they all got – Lost in Space – Cyberspace!

Don’t know if it’s WP & my PC don’t like each other – my PC is so old the Windows don’t have any glass! Haha

I have a feeling it’s my security – don’t you just love & hate your security, especially when you can’t work out how it works!

To my one follower – hang in there mate – I’ll keep trying! Hehe

Well a week has gone by after the very first blog I’m slowly finding my way round this site – I thought this blogging stuff would be easy!!

But hey – all good things come to those who wait – so they say – whoever THEY are!! Hehe

Don’t tell WP but I tried to open a blog with BIG G – I came back with my tail between my legs!! Haha

Google harvests info on us – ah I remember the happy days when G was a hippy company on the side of the people & not just a money machine.

But I digress – as you do!! Ageism – is that a real word??

To me Ageism applies to ALL ages – when I go clubbing I become more visable – when I’m in the Super Market – I become more invisable!

Who finds Ageism a problem or an advantage?

My First Post!

Well here goes – I promise you it WILL get better & I WILL get the hang of this site!! Hehe

This is a blog for people of ALL ages to share ideas & experiences, hopefully I will be the trigger.

Having turned 60 last year, I consider myself an antique salmon swimming against the current of life, I like to think outside the box.

Long ago I learnt about people “Never to judge a book by it’s cover” but I find that alot of Teenagers look at people of my age & assume we think in a certain way – the Old Farts way! Conversely alot of people of my age look at Teenagers & assume they think in a certain way – a shallow way.

There seems to have developed a element of fear between the two groups, but given the chance & given the right circumstances, eg a pub or bar, these fears melt away!

Even at my age I still feel 25 between the ears! And still remain open to new ideas – perhaps that’s my secret!

How old do you feel between the ears?
